I watched Susan Carlin paint this on UStream TV and she sugested we all paint him too and compare notes. So I did! Oh, I did enjoy myself. So thank you Susan.
The reference photo can be seen on Susan's blog, if you want to compare, but my offering doesn't really. Compare I mean. With a portrait of a specific person I get soooooo worried about getting an exact likeness, fiddle endlessly and make a mess. It didn't matter so much with this and consequently I was free from worry and just did it.
Must maintain this carefree-er ( well how would you say it?) attitude for the next portrait!
If you would like to purchase this painting for 70GBP (unless otherwise stated) please email me.

Well, I'll tell ya Sharon, yours looks a lot more like the dog than mine. I like how you created the perspective on the nose. Great work! Susan said something to the effect, that we didn't need her, ha! Little does she know!
Now I know why Susan got so excited when you logged on to Ustream Sunday. Your work is superb. I'm going right now and put your link in my blogroll.
Sharon, this is just terrific!
I meant what I said about visiting you next summer. Brace yourself!
OMG he's beautiful. It was so much fun watching Susan paint and chatting with all of. I love how your dog turned out - you have a beautiful touch.
Your dog looks wonderful, he has that same wonderful expression. I need to paint this little guy too, animals can be such fun to paint.
Hi, I came over to look from Susan's blog. Nice work, wish I had been there. :( See you next time.
Love the self portrait!
What a terrific idea, for three artists across the world to paint the same composition! Your portrait has so much personality. What fun! Sharon, I do so love your work, would you consider exchanging links with me?
Thank you so much everyone for your very kind comments, It gives me such a buzz! Especially coming from such gifted artists, as you all are. So different, but so special, every single one.
