WA

The brief was 'figures in a landscape', and as I do that anyway I decided to paint horses! Even though I cheated, because I have no ink in my printer, and copied this from a book, I think I shall stay with people! The original painting is by fellow Hertford Art Society member and brilliant pleine air artist Trevor Chamberlain, whose work and more info can be found here and here. Trying to copy one of Trevors'works makes me appreciate just how brilliant he is.

I asked if anyone would like to show their work on my blog and the only person brave enough was Penny, who is working on her version of the 'Monarch of the Glen'.
Looking good...I love his face!

So, meet the Wednesday Afternooners.
None were averse to a photo of themselves appearing on the blog, though, and as you can see, they are right posers, every one!
l to r  Jacqui, June, Sue, Pat, Penny, Mary, Judith, Christine and Veronica.
I would have to go far to find  happier company to paint with.

Yes, you all look very happy and the room is nice and cosy too. Lucky to have such a good group but I notice no boys amongst you there! I like the rendition of Trevor's. I think you learn so much by copying other's work and he is one of the best. Well done!

It looks like you have a great time! And well done to Penny for taking the plunge and your rendition of the horse works for me! (Loved your golden oldies)
