 1. Self Scrutiny 12" x 16" Oil

 2. Self Scrutiny Too  12" x 16"  Oil

3. SP 20" x 16" Oil

4. SP with Scarf  16" x 20"  Oil WIP

I am looking for help making my choice of painting to submit to the BP portrait award, sooo....1,2,3 or 4? I wonder if your favourite will be mine too!

There is also a new exhibition this year, 'Self', run alongside and with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. I might just go mad and do both!

Of these four, I like the scarf portrait best. The woman is confident and emits authority. She a woman of substance.

Second favorite is the asymmetrical composition. The eyes have attitude--but it doesn't reveal as much as the first about the sitter--you.

Of course you should go for it too.

I see you are a recipient of the Van Gogh Award! Congratulations!

I like them all so difficult to choose but the scarf one does have something about it, reminds me of traditional portrait pose. I like the top one except for the shoulder which looks a bit odd and the self scrutiny one is an honest but serious pose, quite a sad unhappy look about it, which as Linda says does not portray your real fun personality. All quite different.

Hi Sharon,
The first one is my personal favorite. Your eyes are so perfectly expressive, I feel like you are scrutinizing me instead of your own image.
Had I done this, I might just hang-up my brushes and go save the whales.
Great work, Sharon.
Sincerely,
Gary.
