Not Waving 16" x 20" Oil

Not Waving but Drowning, a poem by Stevie Smith, and this is a line that has stayed with me for years. How easy it is to misinterpret words and actions, to believe something that is not true, to see something that is not there, to have secrets........

No one can KNOW what is in anothers mind. So what is this painting about? If you can tell me, you can have it.

Catching up here Sharon and this is a scary painting! You have caught such a frenzied feeling in it, it's fantastic. And I have to say I absolutely love 'Ships?' - something so soulful about it.

Whoa! This almost makes you gasp to see it. It looks to me like someone landing backward into water. You make me want to expand my subject matter choices!
