Penny Oil

Meet Penny, one of our models at HAS life drawing yesterday. Please check out my other blog to see my other drawings, if you would like too.

Love how you cropped this and left the background untouched! Also, I detect more defined brushstrokes which makes for a strong painting. Are you using flat brushes now? Bravo!

Hi Carol, much appreciated comments. I love no backgrounds...something less to worry about! The answer to yur question is yes. I forgot my brushes last month and borrowed a flat from a friend..what a revelation! Definitely preferable to filberts.

Sharon, great painting--love the dynamic pose and negative shapes. The portrait of Andrew is wonderful, shrug, smile, and all!

Thank you, Bev. I did consider painting her surroundings, but then ran out of time. So, decision made. I like it though.

Fantastic!
Where do you take these life classes Sharon? I'd be really interested in times too, as it's a bit of a journey for me, but I'd love to have a life class to attend the one I did take part in for a while dried up.
