HAS Submission Day

My two and a half hour journey to get there, thanks Roy, was well worth the effort, because as usual I had the best day. Being organised by Mike Radley soon got the job done, as he is very skilled at directing folk in a pleasant but authoritative way!

They were way too nice this year and put too many pictures through, which meant going through the 'middle' pile and rejecting about two thirds of them! I got one of mine in.......and then I didn't :(

But I did get four of my six selected, one of  which I don't have a photo of!

The best bit, though, was the announcement of the 'Best in Show' winner, my very best friend for 20+ years Stella Green, for her painting of dead flowers! 

Sorry about the awful photo, doesn't do it justice at all. I kept getting told off for moving it but I was trying to eliminate the reflections, and the light from the window.

3D Winner Is this piece called 'Queue of Life' which I think is absolutely delightful. 

I'm sorry I only have half a story, I do not have names or pics of the other prizewinners or their work. I shall rectify that later.

*I am not sure that this is the right Keith West, but he seems the most likely suspect!. I shall amend, or delete this bit, when I have found out.

I did this drawing this afternoon.......which I rather like! But to get there I had done four rubbish drawings this morning, the best of which is here...............

George 20" x 16" Oil A Start

I actually got to the studio today, and after a tidy up, relocating pigment, glue, brushes....etc, from boxes to shelves, putting up a curtain to keep out the sun, and setting up my easel............I got half an hour to start a painting. Something I've not done since Autumn! Bad girl! It did feel good, so I hope it's got me going.!
