WA

Graham  16" x 20"  Oil  WIP (maybe)
For the last meeting before the summer break we could do our own thing. This gentleman intrigued me with his facial hair and, of course the hat. I do love a hat as you know. He was a visitor to an exhibition I was a part of and I plucked up the courage to ask for a photo.

WNAA Exhibition

I was invigilating at the exhibition this morning, where I got chatting to several other artists and, of course, visitors. It was quite busy, but no sales apart from greetings cards.
Not sure if this work enhanced or distracted from my piece! It kept making me jump!

Awarded my prize, to keep forever, by Kit Price Moss who is the chairperson of the Association, and also tiniest member, I think!
This was my favourite, a painting of Castle Acre by Brenda Brown. I love how the complimentary colours resonate and glow and, I swear the painting moves within itself!

West Norfolk Artist Association Summer Exhibition

I have one piece selected for exhibition in the WNAA annual summer show, held this year at Kings Lynn Arts Centre, now til 26th July. Chuffed!

Two New and a Glaze.

First glaze. Bet you can't guess what colour........ or where?

And a start of two new paintings. I vowed I would never again paint a portrait straight on to a white, new canvas, because the result  always seems to be more illustration that realism. Ha, so what do I do? Without thinking at all!  I do like how this portrait is going though!
The second painting is the start of an abstract, of Castle Acre ruin.

Watch The Birdie 40" × 32" Oil WIP

Lots more texture on the fence, which also needs to be considerably darker, then it's done. Can't quite believe it's just an afternoons work, but that is the beauty of a palette knife.

WA - Fashion

The brief was to chose an era and paint the fashion. I love Edwardian elegance, the long flowing dresses, the big hats and gloves, and the unnecessary Parasol!

Steve 10" × 12" Oil

This was done at The Wash Art Group, henceforth know as TWAG, from a photo of a very nice gent who visited the exhibition at Burnham Market, a fellow artist and with whom I had an enlightening chat.

Sandringham

First view of the house.

Had to stop Roy starting work!

 There is a painting here!

We went to Sandringham to see the Queen's Seago paintings, some of which she has on display this summer.
Seago's painting of Kings Lynn, which he presented to the Queen Mum to mark the occasion when the freedom of the city was bestowed on her.
 A Venice Canal
Seago's painting of Prince Philip, painting. On show is also Prince Philip's painting of Seago. Brilliant.
These photos in no way do justice to Seago's work. Love him.
