My submission has again been rejected for the BP Portrait Award. From 2,377 entries, 55 works have been selected. I think it would have been a miracle! Guilt now takes over at money wasted
.............about £150 altogether..................especially with the bailiffs knocking at the door!

I'm so sorry. Sharon.
I've been keeping track of art expenses lately; between supplies and juried show fees, association dues and workshop/class costs, the only people making money in the art business are the supply merchants, instructors, etc.. I always thought you had to be rich to be an artist-- or crazy--a Degas or a Van Gogh. Well, you got an expensive piece of wallpaper there. "They say" you have to gather enough rejection slips to paper the loo before you break through; you're on your way to success. I'm,expecting my slip April 28th. It's either a badge of courage or stupidity? I prefer to think courage, but then a stubborn friend tells me I'm stubborn. :-))
ooo can hardly blame you for entering this..I love it--it is unique--a really different scene to produce in paint! Beautifully done!
So sorry it didn't work out. Keep up the spirit!
Mine as well……. I like your painting!
don't worry --- mine as well and thousands other :) have you heard about the salon of refuses? would be great to expose all the rejected into an alternative gallery...
