Jill 12" x 10" Oil

 
I think her fat finger needs tiddling, but apart from that I like it!

Me too. I'm thinking you're right with staying with monochromatic schemes. I'm having a hell of a time with Michael.Enough of a headache I drew into him again. It's the lighting--too flat. I have to keep reminding myself, this is an experimental portrait that only this mother has to love.

That's a difficult expression to get down as well. But you did a wonderful job. You seemed to have caught her in half sentence. I like these portraits that catch the moment. I think it broadens the audience if titled right.
